On 27 August, as sports clubs round the country threw open their doors to celebrate unprecedented Team GB success, we at Wapping were delighted to host a celebration of hockey in honour of one of our member's late sister.
Kat Alty has fast become a popular member of the club with her boundless enthusiasm perhaps first on display with her and Lizzie Stanton exclaiming they were "sweating like a pig, but feeling like a fox" during an early back to hockey session. She now inherits the captain's armband for our Ladies 7th team, who were shortlisted last season for England Hockey's ladies team of the season.
Those of us who know Kat a little better knew that during this same time with us she was also copying with loss. She is presently preparing to ride the length of Britain (classic Kat) to raise funds for two of the charities involved in caring for her late sister. We felt it was only right that we do our bit and we're pleased to report the fundraising tournament raised over £300.
Kat has done a much better job than we ever can of explaining this more at her just giving page. We entreat you to visit the below link and perhaps consider adding to the impressive amount she has already raised.

Thank you everyone involved last Saturday.
