Election fever continues at Wapping

1 year ago By Stuart Burnside

Election results for phase 1, nominations for phase 2

In phase 1 (Chair, Vice Chairs) delighted to confirm Stuart Burnside and Sandra Akinbolu have been re-elected as Chair and Vice Chair (Community) respectively.

In phase 2 – nominations open May 16th, close May 31st, votes open June 1st, close June 15th

For exec positions, to help focus a potentially limited pool of volunteers, it's indicated below where the incumbent is intending to run again, or where we've had an expression of interest. However, you are welcome to contest elections. Haven't done that for committee, sorry, don't know the data. Please note all committee and exec positions reduce membership rates down to the unemployed/student rate, save for fixture secretaries and ULOs who benefit from free membership.

Note
As usual, we are not exactly sure how many teams we need yet. We have some visibility on likely inflows to the club, but we would ask any members who do not intend playing next season to email Donna with subject line "Leaving - [Team]" so we can get an idea of departures from various teams.

This will help us work out the total number of teams required. Our policy at Wapping generally, particularly for lower teams, is to maximise the amount of pitch time you get for your money, so we start new teams where projected membership looks like this will be required. This is the only reason we start new teams - so it's really important to get the info from departing members to avoid starting too many. If you have time, please do also include the reasons for your departure. Typically we will keep your email address and may contact you as an alumni - if you don't want that to happen, please make that clear in your email.
