L3 vs Crostyx

The 2017/2018 season began with the Ladies 3's playing Crostyx in their first game. A new warm up routine had the ladies fired up and looking forward to the match.
As the whistle blew, Wapping were straight to the ball with defence pushing the team forwards towards the opposition goal. Crostyx were on the back foot as the ball was transferred from one side to the other and attacking play from Henny and Holtie down the wings allowed Wapping their first shot on goal which was saved by the keeper.
Wapping pressed and held the ball in the opposition half with interceptions from Sophie, Holly and Babs allowing the team to gain momentum. Further attacking play led to several short corners being won, however Wapping were not able to capitalise.
Crostyx began to fight back and managed to score two goals against the run of play in 5 minutes.
The second half was much more composed. Calm communication from Roche and Sandy, along with Rachel and Becky allowed the mids and forwards to move into space and capitalise on turn overs from the opposition. Great movement from Holly and BJ, with distribution from Sophie, Dudley and Bella saw Wapping on the attack again.
Despite several attempts and some great chances, Wapping were denied the goals they needed and the game ended 2-0.
A 4-way pint off saw Sandy do the DOD pint as 2nd in the vote - Holtie was too full from her pot noodle to do 2 (sorry Henny - you got cropped from the photo as Pitchero couldn't cope with a photo that wide). Princess Holly Marven put in a shamefully low effort performance with her pint and now runs the risk of being voted DOD every week until we see a marked improvement in effort.
MOM - Holly, Holtie, Henny
