Our Social Secs are always on the lookout for new London venues, so if you come across somewhere that would be good for a hockey social be sure to let them know!
Halloween Social
19:30 - 01:00
Get your fancy dress ready, channel all that Ken-ergy and join us at The Castle for a spooky celebration!

How much? --> £2
There will be a prize for the best dressed team so make sure your outfits are on point! Tickets available from your teams’ social secs.
Club Day - All welcome!
The new season is coming and that means one thing: Club Day is on its way!
11:00-12:30: Older Kidds’ masterclass
With Head Coach, Matt Bowen, and the ladies' and men's 1s
12:30-14:30: Mixed tournament (LV2)

14:30-15:00: Lunch + Mixed tournament final (LV1)
Food options still TBC but drinks and snacks will be available throughout the day.
15:00-16:30: L1 showcase game
16:30-18:00: M1 showcase game
18:30: PARTY - We’ll be moving en mass over to Hackney Bridge to continue the fun. Expect international street food, great drinks and a cracking night. Space for kit bags so no need to drop them home first.
President’s Day
We’ve got an exciting new event for this years diary - President’s day!
Expect: alumni in their masses, a cracking family festival, lots of love for the Kidds, and special guests from across the pond.
9:30 - 11:00: Kidds + family + friends session
All ages welcome but under 3s may struggle with the hockey. We'll start with some fun drills and then play some mini games. No previous hockey experience necessary. Please make sure you register interest so we have an idea on numbers.
11:00 - 12:30: Older Kidds showcase game
An opportunity to enjoy a game played by our most promising youngsters.
12:30 - 13:30: Lunch and official launch of the Kidds Foundation
Wood fired pizza delivery (not free unfortunately but we’ll be taking orders and payment between 11 snd 12 and dishing them out upon arrival)
13:30 onwards: Alumni tournament
An opportunity for current and past Wappers to play together. The more the merrier! Please register using the form if you haven’t already and ensure you invite all your old pals.
16:30 (TBC): Wapping based social
We’ll be running a kit and refreshments stall throughout the day and it would be AMAZING to have some homemade cakes/snacks on sale so if you like to bake please do bring some along to help us raise funds for Kidds.
End of Season Dinner
The end of season dinner will take place on the 22nd April from 6pm to 1am at the De Vere Connaught Rooms. Expect good food, good drink, a great DJ, and exquisite company. It would be great to see as many of you there as possible to help round off the season. Tickets are on sale in the shop now including the option to pay in instalments. To pay in instalments, the first payment will need to be made by the 2nd of February.
Included with tickets are the following:

M1 and L1 Fundraiser
From 7pm the M1 and L1 will be running a fundraiser quiz and auction at Hackney Bridge to raise money for the club. All friends and family of the club welcome so get sending out invites - more details to follow shortly.
Lower Ladies Lovefest
Help ring in the second half of the season at the Moretown Belle. Come along for drinks from 4:30pm. The England v Ireland game will be showing for those who’d like to watch.
Should you be free earlier in the day, the L6 and L7 are playing back-to-back at JO (with the L5 in the stands supporting) so come along early for some better than Bestival, more glam than Glasto, vibes once you’re done with your game. First game PB at 2pm.
Christmas Social

Let’s ring in the festive season with the Wapping Christmas Party! Join us for drinks, food and a DJ playing only the cheesiest Christmas tunes. For those who thought it was sufficient to wear cat ears at Halloween, this is a chance to step up the fancy dress game with your finest festive costumes.

Don your spooookiest team costumes for our annual Halloween Social. We’ve seen everything from the incarnations of Britney to The Joker and now it’s time to raise the bar! Originality will be rewarded! There will be various games to play and of course prizes for best dressed.
Start of Season social
To celebrate the start of season we’ll be heading down to our clubhouse, The Moretown Belle, after the opening matches on September 24th.
Join us from 7pm for good drinks, good vibes and a chance to celebrate our first wins of the season!
Club Day - All welcome!
The new season is back and that means one thing: Club Day is here! Lee Valley is being watered, the tables are booked, we’re getting Bristol University back and doing it all again.
Starting at 11:00am in the morning, we have a free, social, 6 aside tournament open to everyone; the ideal place to invite any new members to get a sense of WHC and to give existing members a chance to show these newbies what we're about.
Stick around at LV with a beer for the relaunch of #watchyour1s, as the Ladies & Men’s first teams take on Bristol University 1XIs. I think we all want to see a repeat of the wins last year. The ladies push back at 13:30 & the men’s push back at 15:00.
Continue on into the evening (or go home and shower first!) with the evening’s social starting at 7pm @ the Wapping Tavern
Annual Golf Day
Do you enjoy hitting a ball with a stick type object? Of course you do, but what if that ball is slightly smaller and you’re wearing chinos? Still keen, then you should sign up to the Wapping HC golf day on Friday 2nd September. It's open to all ability levels, at the beautiful Woolston Manor Golf Club. Rory Cameron won the glorious tankard above on the curtain raiser to this event last year, roll up to see if he can defend his title.
Your entry gets you a prime tee of time between 12-2, all 18 holes, breakfast on arrival, exciting prizes for all aptitudes, nearest the pin competitions and a special treat. A BBQ following your round and exclusive bar access, with swimming pool, all evening.
